Greek warfare
Fighting in Greece was
the most brutal way of fighting in the world, even with today’s advanced
weaponry and fighting methods. Almost all of the warfare was hand to hand to
hand combat with swords, shields, and spears. The medium to long range battle
consists of bows and arrows and slingshots that can shoot accurately from at
least 100 yards.
The Athenian soldiers
wear red robes, so the blood won’t show. If the blood is seen it’s a sign of
weakness, therefore, more soldiers will target you. Hoplites carried a short
known as the xiphos, made of iron or bronze depending on the era. The primary
weapon was a two – three-meter spear known as the doru. The soldiers wore a
heavy bronze plated chest piece, little other armor was worn.
