1st day of Western Civ

Today was my first day of Western Civilization in Mr. Schick’s class. It was a 2-hour delay today so class was only 40 minutes. We only had time to setup our new blogger accounts. We were supposed to read pages 118-126 in the “Ancient World History” text book. We had to send our blogger URL to Mr. Schick. It wasn’t a very eventful class today. We are going to get new seats sometime soon but the seats we get are going to be seats that we do not want be in.

Most of the people in our class are people that I know or have had other classes with, about 5 are people I have never met before or had class with. I am hoping to have another great semester in Mr. Schicks class.

Archimedes - he accurately estimated the value of PI. colossus of Rhodes - the largest hellenistic statue created. 3. Trade spread different cultural ideas around and created diversity. 4. Euclid - his geometry helped Eratothenes and Aristarchus find the size of the earth. 5. They both believed we should live in peace.
